line and login (can't remember if I had to run mysql_install_db first).
However, trying to run it via service, start, or /etc/init.d/mysql start

I solved this. Somehow it appears I had deleted my my.cnf file, and this
was causing the problem. I had to completely purge mysql-common, mysql-
server-5.1 and mysql-server-core-5.1, then reinstall, and everything is
now working.
I used this to purge:
dpkg -P --force-depends mysql-common

All looks good to me, I have just a small question though:
debiandoc2html - seems you create html files from the man pages, what's the
intend? We are just used to ship manpage, not html convertion.
