the issue is rather a live CD or casper one, it should write an
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf (that will be the location of the conffile in
the next update) with default-user-timeout=0 it seems

I suspect the nvidia drivers
Oh, yes it's impressive! Well done it was due to these nvidia drivers! But
drivers installed from xorg-edgers ppa, not nvidia drivers from Ubuntu
repositories!

I can't access the duplicate bug. I'm getting the same behavior with
all Java applications I've tried. I've been doing an ALT-F2/compiz
--replace to escape borderless-window land.
