So downgrading is the way to alleviate the issue? Feels so... Windows
like. Where XP is the upgrade for Vista.

I booted Ubuntu 11.04 from a live-usb and tried to resize my main ubuntu
partitition with Gparted 0.7.0, but for some reason it keeps failing. I
tried turning SwapOff, but that made no difference. After 3 attempts,
I'm a bit stumped and would appreciate any help. I've attac
some more info :
- i am experiencing these reconnects when i am sitting at my desk, so i'm not
moving (and neither are the AP's i think ;-)
- i have seen this happen while i'm working on my laptop, so my laptop is not
going to sleep/standby/powersave at that moment
is there a possibility to see
As the reporter of the bug I now have Ubuntu 11.04 and this bug is of no
problem for me any more

I didn't try it.
In my opinion, Totem should know itself how long to wait before
splaying the video to avoid mid-video buffering – like YouTube's video
player does.

I'm afraid we have a policy to not allow new language
runtimes/interpreters into backports: "No changes to language
interpreters (python, mono, java). These tend to have a greater risk of
regression that is extremely difficult to test for. "

FWIW, on my oneiric 3.0rc6 kernel, there's still no sound without
running the hda-verb command (or the hda_analyzer equivalent I guess).
I've added David's ppa repo, so I see the package gets updated
automatically from time to time, so I'll assume I'm also running the
latest fixes, whatever tha

package nvidia-glx-185 not installed failed to install/upgrade:

Actually I am in a process of installing fglrx driver and so I have
removed everything related to nvidia, but it seems some parts are still
in the system. Fglrx reported as installed but does not load (black
screen). When booting through the safe mode the vesa driver gets load
my W520 is very unstable ... crash/freeze on "[drm:i915_do_wait_request]
*ERROR* i915_do_wait_request returns -11"
how to get the fix ?
