At least for the IdeaPad S205 model 1038 there is a quite weird
workaround:
After installation there is a mysterious ubuntu entry in the boot
order that must not be at the top. So go to your BIOS with F2 and
change the boot order so the hardisk comes before ubuntu entry. Seems
like a buggy
This also happens with gnome-shell 3.4.1 and gtk+-3.0 3.4.1

Thank you for taking the time to look in to this bug as well as get back
to me. The explanation of the issue definitely makes the problem more
clear. However, I am intrigued by the fact that something so important
is assumed, and that Upstart errors when it encounters something
I'm running Xubuntu 12.04 beta2.
I saw this problem last night.
7.0.24 is what was installed with Xubuntu, I tried 7.0.25 and the
problem still happens.
I found resizing the window (but not using the maximize) would make the
menu rerender correctly.

The analog output and analog speaker ports both get removed due to
subset elimination. This is because the kernel interface does not expose
any hint that there is anything else but a headphone attached.
I wonder what the best way to attack this problem is. We could either
make a separate

are a lot of variables to consider here and the problem is providing
difficult to isolate. Please can I ask those affected by this issue to
be patient.

SRU verification for Oneiric:

Occasionally in Ubuntu Linux, some application hogs the pulseaudio
sound server causing other programs like vlc and mplayer to not be able
to actually play sound. There is a simple fix for this problem and it

Thank you for your comment. The fact of the matter was, that a video
driver was at fault. About two weeks ago an update replaced the then
current video driver and the problem was fixed. So much so, that I
don't even have to adjust the sound to HDMI as was the case before.

No locale-dependent substitution of ${TIME};
I have this bug but I do not think it has anything to do with Unity as I
am running XFCE. I am using Ubuntu 12.04.
QUESTIONS
