I don't run any non-standard indicators. I have an external (to the laptop)

I'd just like to mention this isn't just specific to i3, i5, i7
Ivy/Sandybridge etc. I'm seeing this on a 3Ghz Pentium 4 system +
nVidia.
Kernel 3.3.5 and 3.3.6 improved the problem no end but still getting hard
freezes as per my comment #27 with Unity 3D.
NO freezing at all Unity 2D!

regard, I've pushed my changes to lp:~lotheac/lightdm/utmpx.
