an attempt to open a spreadsheet fails.

I am not able to break in to retrieve any type of logs. I cleaned up
the messages I see somewhat below getting rid of those characters. This
was seen on Ubuntu 14.10

Hi Matthias
The error message with regard to missing upstart.in files is due to the
Debian maintainers use of openstack-pkg-tools - I'll take a look and see
if we can tidy away that message as this package is just middleware - no
daemons!
Right now python3 is not feasible due to missing python3
