apt-get install nvidia-libopencl1-343
apt-get install ocl-icd-libopencl1 (this will remove nvidia-
libopencl1-343, but it works)
I think some configuration or detritus from "nvidia-libopencl1-343" gets
left behind such that ocl

Indeed, good catch. The sound menu always manipulated the left channel.
I've attached a branch fixes most of the problem by making it handle
channels in the same way that system settings does. Changing the volume
to 0 still resets the balance to center, though (same as in system
settings).

Hi Thaddaus,
I've been in communication with the Xfce Forums about this. The feeling
there is that I've switched to the Unity Greeter, which is causing the
'bug'. I realize the issue had been addressed and corrected between the
gtk-greeter and xfwm4, but this is not my case.

Our implementation will again prompt the user for the SIM Pin on a boot, but it
will be possible to continue without entering it.
There is also a discussion ongoing to make it more obvious to the user that the
SIM is locked (i.e. fix the indicator)
