I will limit my investigation to the packaging and maintenance aspects,
since the security team has already looked at the code.
Blockers:
- /usr/bin/gsutil clashes with the 'gsutil' package. You could namespace
google's version, or you could just mark this package as Conflicting with
gsutil.
Should fix:
- Lintian warns about python-depends-but-no-python-helper and as a result,
${python:Depends} is empty. You manually call pycompile in postinst. But
maybe you'd be better off using and overriding dh_python2 in debian/rules with
a custom path (although dh_python2 does say it will scan
/usr/lib/google-cloud-sdk for you).
Comments:
- Once this is uploaded to Ubuntu, as usual, I'd like to see team bug
subscribers.
- There are lots of lintian executable-not-elf-or-script warnings. Stuff like
LICENSE files and python modules. Can the permissions be cleaned up at install
time?
