@Pat, in which release has this bug-id been fixed ? I have just tested OTA-14
and the issue is still there.
At the same time tell me where can I find information when a bug id is supposed
to be fixed how to test it on my own phone ?

Hi Canonical,
Can you please apply this patch [1] to 16.10 and 16.04.x HWE (4.8) ?
It's fixes a regression introduced in 4.8.
As you can see, it's in the SCSI maintainer (James Bottomley)'s 'fixes'
Qt 5.7.1 is still not released but hopefully everything would be ready
on upstream side by beginning of January. It seems 5.7.1 will still have
regressions compared to 5.6.1, at least https://codereview.qt-
project.org/#/c/177422, hopefully nothing else.

This bug was fixed in the package plastimatch - 1.6.5+dfsg.1-1

* New upstream version
* Use debian libdlib-dev instead of upstream provided dlib
* Remove
As mentioned, works in Ubuntu 16.10 and newer. The message is still
there but can be bypassed.
Note that Mint is Ubuntu with small tweaks, so Mint 18 (built on Ubuntu
16.04) working probably means their live image creation uses something
else than gfxboot for the first run menu. Fixing gfxboot

I can't test easily since 16.04 live USB doesn't boot on Chromebooks
because of gfxboot problem.
I did have 16.04 install at one point (transferred complete installation
in from USB) and yes I needed external keyboard. That would make sense
if 'm' was used also back then while 'y' is required.

** Description changed:
I’m able to build and run custom Kernel if and only if I don’t shutdown or
reboot. Otherwise, the process ends in a dead screen CRTL+ALT+xyz has no
effect. Works fine up to Kernel 4.8.12. Apport is not showing anything.
