you'll get "SIOCGIFHWADDR on eth0 failed: No such device" response
However on my installation 20.04.2 LTS, my network interface is

This fix is being reverted fully in queens, rocky, and stein [1]. In
order to fast-track the revert it was decided with the SRU team to be
best to revert all patches. We can then consider adding patch 1 back as

Autopkgtests started failing on xenial

This is caused by the virtualenv wrapper script that by default installs the
latest version of pip.
Since version 21.0 (released on 2021-01-23), pip dropped support for Python
3.5, which is what we have in xenial.
So the script needs to be modified to pin the version of pip
