On 16.04 I still had this issue, even after following the uninstall-
purge-autoremove-install (git-all, git and runit). Followed what
@JCD(jchd) mentioned and it worked out.
Solution:
- $ sudo apt install runit # should return error
- In file /var/lib/dpkg/info/runit.postinst, comment lines
if [ -
Solved by downloading the xfce4-weather-plugin.deb file from the PPA for
xfce-4.16.
I extracted the libweather.so file from that package and replaced the file
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/panel/plugins/libweather.so with this extracted
newer version.
Works very well again.

partitions with test distributions of Linux. When installing Kubuntu
from a USB stick, the process fails close to the end when grub2 is ready
to write to the mbr. Then installer exits.Repeated the process

As this is server such thing is quite unbelievably bad, is then the only
way in production to remove this package altogether. Its not ideal for
