I just found the problem. Not the root cause, but the specific problem

When the .htaccess file is on my desktop, its mime-type is: plain text

(sorry, I stated that it was above), but an install of 'xubuntu-
desktop'. It seemed to be missing all the required dependencies, such as

I just had this problem with the current update in Intrepid. I hit the
'x' button and it still appeared on all my other tabs. Then I went back
to the original tab I closed it in and it reappeared!

Just a further note that the initial machine I reported this on turned
out to have a totally trashed IDE controller. I tried reformatting /

I an currently running Hardy on both my machines and I do not see these

en-us. Can we do that at the very least for us Canadian users?

This is how I produced this bug:
I installed 'splashy' which removed 'usplash' and other libraries. I
believe it removed 'grub' as well. Then I ran 'sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude upgrade'. Every update installed except the kernel. Every
time
And 3.4 provides a lot of web development support, which I, and many
others, have been screaming about for some time!

I get this same error. I was just about to file a report and saw this
bug.
I have Firefox open, a kernel upgrade failed, then apport failed to send
the bug report because I already had Firefox open!
