I did not know the first boot script would be important, since it made it all
the way through. What posted was the 2nd time around when it did not make it
all the way through (aka froze, although from what you say, maybe it didn't
freeze, just my display was not showing anything
And here is another attempt at loading a virgin image to sd card. This
time I used the same alter boot.scr, but after reboot, pressed keyboard
to pause boot cycle, switched off the power, re-installed altered
boot.scr (as suggested by Tobin earlier), put sd back in beagle, plugged

OK, I haven't seen Ambiance but once since I installed, so it may not be
a race condition.
I still cannot select Ambiance as my theme, instead Gnome is forcing me
to use this very plain Windows 95 looking default.

When I upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10, the error still appeared. I created
a new user, moved over all my documents (but not my preferences) and the
error no long occurs. So it appears something corrupted a vital

I can confirm this on my Asus K72JR, running 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 (up-to-
date). I run the proprietary ATI video driver, but disabled it and this
ruler problem still appears.

I highly recommend AGAINST using Super+S as it's already the default

This is occuring to me too in Ubuntu 10.04 w all the updates
It was running fine and then all of a sudden it exits on two different
errors. I tried purging and reinstalling and deleting any preferences I
could find but to no avail.

minute audio track into 4 parts. The parts 1,2,3,4, will be burnt onto

This was also a problem in 9.10 as well as 9.10 server.
It appears that the linux headers installed don't match the current linux
kernel version.
After the ubuntu upgrade completed I re-run
apt-get install dahdi-dkms
This fix the problem.
I wonder if there is some sort of install order issue
I was having this problem on Karmic.
This morning I upgraded to the latest version of Karmic which fixed the
problem, then I upgraded to Lucid and it is back again.

a PPA:

Looks like I might have a failed install of wine - attempting to re-
apply 1.1.39-0ubuntu1~karmic5 reproduces the python2.4 + python2.5
installation failure.
Happy to go back to Wine on karmic main, I removed the PPA repo and
attempted to reinstall Wine 1.1.31-0ubuntu3, which triggers errors this
@Omer - thanks, did that and it looks like a good outcome, Empathy can
now connect to AIM and ICQ.
FYI during the partial dist upgrade I had failures on python-2.4 and
python-2.5 but seems not to have mattered.
