No, the faulty entry is the one after that. Apparently the callback is called
with a blank entry, which causes the crash in a string comparison. I think
upstream should add a length check before calling g_slist_foreach in
menuitem_open_callback (its already checking that the pointer is not null
OK, thanks for letting us know. If you do happen to identify the file
that is causing the crash it could be interesting if we could have a
look at it. This could help us to pin down the particular cause for the
crash.

I think the problem is due to the fact that apt-rdepends follows the AptPkg
enumerator internal values (1,2 3, etc, see the AptPkg man page), not their
value.
For instance the following command will correctly show Depends, PreDepends and
Recommends:
apt-rdepends --follow=1,2,4 --show=1,2,4

It doesn't seem like this has been fixed upstream. Current svn still
shows the faulty line:

Could you report it upstream? We can patch this for Ubuntu but indeed
this should be done upstream.

Adding a Suggests on smc-music will create a circular dependancy. IMHO
this bug is bogus, the purpose of the smc-music package being packaged
separately is exactly to avoid having it installed by default while
installing smc. Having a recommends/suggests on it (and removing the
deps from
eagle is orphaned in Debian, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=506513
