[Bug 1318598] Re: 64-bit linker symlink missing, causing third-party binaries not to run

2014-08-19 Thread Curaga
Invalid according to whom? The cost to Ubuntu is one symlink to be compatible with many more binaries. The pure64 systems are so by design obviously, so no lib64 is quite valid in their eyes. ** Changed in: glibc (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- You received this bug notification

2014-05-12 Thread Curaga
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit is missing the dynamic linker symlink in /lib. This is causing third-party 64-bit binary applications to fail with a message No such file or directory. Users can solve this by executing sudo ln -s /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 /lib but this really should

[Bug 1018058] [NEW] Initramfs is re-generated several times, wasting time

Public bug reported: Installed Xubuntu 12.04 x64 desktop. During the install, the initramfs was re-generated several times, each taking about 10 seconds (slow hw, E-450). By my count this wasted about two minutes of install time, needlessly re-generating the initramfs, when only the last

[Bug 260800] Re: Totem only plays first track of audio cd

2008-10-14 Thread Curaga
Upstream closed the report. Upstream comment: CDDA support was removed from totem in August 2007. You can still play audio CDs if you open the right URI manually (for the GStreamer backend, that'd be cdda://track-number, so you can still play other tracks by adding cdda://2 etc), but you should

[Bug 260800] Re: Totem only plays first track of audio cd

2008-09-02 Thread Curaga
Since only Totem is installed by default, I thought one other player would be enough. Out of curiosity, what's so different with Mplayer and these two? Both Sound juicer and Rhythmbox play the cd fully. I also tested 2 other cds with all four apps (Mplayer, Totem, those two), and got the same
