I bought a docking station and can confirm the same problems via the
twin DVI outputs (both 1 or 2 external monitors), so it's not just an
issue with mixing CRT and DFP devices. The panels plugged into the
docking station appear as 2 DFP devices, with another DFP device for the
laptop's screen.

I agree that the behaviour has changed with the version of gnome-
terminal in Jaunty. The previous version allowed CTRL-C to be bound to
copy, but still passed it through to the shell when no text was
highlighted. I think it should revert to this behaviour see bug

Hmm, if apport detected an oops... why did it not attach a decoded oops

written to disc, how did apport know it was a KernelOops?

I can confirm bug #2, that hibernate is not working correctly on my Dell
Inspiron 9400. After successfully hibernating (suspend to disk), it
fails to resume. My laptop boots normally, as if it had simply been been
shut down.
It's pretty much a fresh installation of 8.10 Desktop on JFS.
Please
I can confirm this on a pretty fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 running on a
Dell Inspiron 9400. The applet says that my battery has 358955 hours
remaining (37.2%). See attached screenshot.
What's the best way to debug this, so I can help?

What can I do to help
Perhaps my bug is different from hmhef's. After further investigation,
it seems that hibernate/resume works fine for me when done manually.
However, the laptop boots as if no hibernate was done when I let Gnome
Power Manager hibernate my laptop after allowing the battery to
discharge to critical.
