This just happened to me on Ubuntu 17.04, although it's the first time
its happened in ages - at least a year maybe even two years.

cli using ps aux | grep cli or just sudo killall /usr/bin/cli seems to

The same PDF file can be opened successfully in draw if it's copied to a
local folder and then opened. OpenDocument Drawing format files open
file from samba shares.
But trying to open/import a PDF file into Draw from Samba share causes
LibreOffice to crash.

On Ubuntu 12.10 I had exactly the same issue described here on two
computers, one x64 and one x86.
Now I've upgraded both to Ubuntu 13.04, the issue is similar, except
that instead of freezing the whole computer, only KeePass freezes.

I decided to try it again on my computer since it was a while since this
bug was originally filed.
I went back in and ticked use system font for user interface and then
restarted LibreOffice and guess what - it worked! So I presume an
update, either to Ubuntu or to LibreOffice has corrected the

After some searching around I found this discussion at

the problem is to do with the fonts. It seems that the default Ubuntu
font (i.e. the one named Ubuntu) does not support Hebrew properly, so
instead it displays squares.

I uninstalled the Compiz PPA and now I'm using version unity version
4.24.0-0ubuntu2.1vv1 and Compiz 1:0.9.6+bzr20110929-0ubuntu6. It seems

For some reason, quite a few launchers on the Unity Dash don't work after
upgrading to Oneiric 11.10. They worked fine in Natty 11.04. Some launchers do
work, but a lot don't. After doing unity --replace in
apport information

1. From Unity2D, click the top button (I don't know exactly what it's called -
the one that brings up the search panel, which has all the applications in it
2. Select an application* (e.g. VLC Media Player)
3. Nothing happens (Expected VLC Media Player to open)
*A few applications seem to be
(By select an application - I mean click on it)

Some Home Pane launchers don't work when using Unity2D
To manage notifications about
Ok see below. NB I don't know if it's related but the unity launcher bar going
up the side sometimes disappears. To get it back, I go to a terminal and type
unity-2d-launcher
The next time it disappears, a message appears in the terminal about
unity-2d-launcher Segmentation Fault.
