I got it working! No need for new ffmpeg. I made a new patch, and I
disabled the example Haar app.

Using the default settings I have no audio playback with the edirol
UA-25 USB 2.0 and pulseaudio in ubuntu 9.04 (final). This was working
with ubuntu 8.10 (32/64).

Hi,
Personally I would say: closed, because I don't use Kde 3.5.x anymore (8.10
and higher come with KDE 4 with another implementation of the taskbar), and
the KDE 4 taskbar behaves fine. For Hardy users, this might still be an
issue, but I cannot test this.

Well, since the first poster doesn't use compiz, it cannot be a compiz
bug. The bug seems to be caused by a recent update of the nvidia
proprietary driver in combination with compositing on X (not necessarily
with compiz).
Googling UseCompositeWrapper results in a wide range of problems, of
which
I think I solved it. AdamK from forum.compiz-fusion.org suggested to add
the line
Option UseCompositeWrapper true
to the Device section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Haven't seen the problem
occurring once since then.

Yeah, it's still in 3.5.10. In fact, I mistakenly thought it to be
related to the kicker-taskbar-compiz, because I do use compiz. see link:

I think the problem is strongly related to whether kicker autohides or
not. I've just disabled autohide and until now, it works just like it
should work. As soon as I enable autohide again, taskbar-compiz doesn't
clean up all the old windows.

I just changed wallpapers (Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 3.5.x). After the new
wallpaper was used (4 MB in size!), I kept getting the above error and
my desktop icons weren't displayed. After I replaced the huge wallpaper
with a smaller one, everything went back to normal. This behaviour is
just what I

Anyway, this bug is still showing up in 8.04, rhythmbox still crashes
after a while, and I can't figure out why. I installed the rhythmbox
debug package and let it crash again, I also ran the valgrind program
again, but again it doesn't crash (I left it running for 45 minutes or
so).

It is possible to enable autologin in kdm-kde4 by invoking kde
systemsettings with 'sudo /usr/lib/kde4/bin/systemsettings'. However,
autologin doesn't work: when I enable autologin I just get a 'login
failed' message when kdm starts.

From the screenshot you posted, It doesn't look like a color mismatch.
There is however a slight color gradient present. In the Qtcurve
settings you can disable this gradient. Start kcontrol, then goto
Appearance Themes Style. Then on the tab called Style, click
Settings. Now in the tab Menu

I tried it with, valgrind. It runs very slow (choppy audio), but it doesn't
crash somehow! After running with valgrind I tried it without, and rhytmbox
_does_ crash.

I also have this problem. My (ide) hd was /dev/hda, is now /dev/sda. My
