I will try to explain, why the dependency is wrong.
In my opinion, Ubuntu (like any other distro) must have its own default
applications.
But as a quite common and widely spread distro, I do not find it a good
practise to force install parts (like libraries) of any default application.
I find it
I haven't seen this behaviour with the nvidia-current from the Oneiric repos.
However, if I upgrade to the version 280.11 from xorg-edgers,
terminal will not completely shut down.
In fact, when trying to reboot my system, I get a warning message saying
terminal is not responding and the computer

If I uninstall it, only previous version 0.80.13 or earlier works OK.

Hi, what keyboard layout are you using? Reason to ask is perhaps the
super key is mapped to the wrong key/s. That would explain the

No, apt did not remove anything nor did suggest it.
I did the upgrade with synaptic, so nothing wrong about that (no errors).
There was only the notification to upgrade xorg-server to the version 1.10.2
first, which is a new dependency.
But as I mentioned, I downgraded the mesa back to

launcher doesn't show
Could you confirm that the line isn't just one of the spacers between
application groups? With the small screen res perhaps the outside
decoration is off screen, and the line is meant to be there?

So the problem is that when your on the 4th desktop, the workspace
applet does *not* show 4th desktop, but instead remains on the 1st
desktop?
If that's the problem, I can't reproduce here. Marking as incomplete for
now.

Huge memory
Blurry: On a side note, perhaps grab those commands that prevent Swing
using OpenGL, and stick them into your default java settings. That
should temporarily solve the crashing on your machine.
