Still a year later an nothing even said from Ubuntu as to what if
anything is being done. I have seen no fixes or work-arounds mentioned
anywhere. I still see it as well in 11.10. If this is not even something
to worry about then just say something in response. Though honestly I
rarely use Ubuntu
Still seeing the same things in the most current Kernel, I have attached
a current dmesg as well. Seems to be pretty much still exactly the same
issues with the kernel.

pci
there are roughly 30 of them now, things seem to be getting even worse
as the updates come also I tried Natty and had the same issue as well as
even more new problems.
Any advice tips or anything on what to try or what to even look for
would be appreciated.

Still nouveau drivers are not working properly for this graphics card.
Though for some reason on Fedora 14 its working perfectly. For others
with an x505 I responded to a posted thread there on how to do a basic

You dont need to go into recovery mode to do that just add nomodeset to
the Kernel your trying to boot.

I did all the same fixes and have the mic working but even boosting
everything to their max settings its still not usable as the mics volume
is insanely low. and can barely hear a recording I have a toshiba
x505-887

I just tried booting with the this kernel option of acpi_osi=Linux and that
seemed to get rid of some issues and speed up boot time almost 10 seconds. But
the same error is still there I am also seeing other errors though they may
not be such as:
EDAC i7core: Device not found: dev 00.0 PCI ID
Sorry forgot to mention also the battery says its still not present as
well. But seem to get normal battery life out of it. Also lm-sensors
does not detect anything either in case that helps.

I was having the same issue as listed here running 10.10 with
kernel.35-23-generic on x86_64. I ran into the not being able to unlock
gdmsetup and figured out that was because I used sudo before it and if
you do you are not able to unlock it. You have to run just gdmsetup.

Here is dmesg with running the boot arg like it said pci=nocrs and all
that seemed to do is produce the reverse error of saying I should enable
it with pci=with_crs log attached

PX760A with the latest firmware (1.07) still continues to ignore a video DVD

I have a Plextor PX-760A IDE that is pluged on the IDE port of an Asus P5B-E
plus motherboard. The port is controlled by Jmicron 20363 chipset configured as
an IDE controller. I got exactly the same symptoms with Fiesty 7.04. Because I

with todys samba patch i encountered that error the third time. removing
the K09samba symlinks in in rc2.d and rc3.d resolved the issue
everytime. does anyone knows what creates these symlinks? they do not
seem to be a part of samba, so whats writes them down?
