I apologize for flooding this thread with multiple posts. There is one
more thing I would like to add. Now Evolution doesn't crash immediately
after starting. It crashes when I try to edit any of the repeating
assignments. Normal assignments can be edited without problems.

Thanks for your prompt reaction. This is a clean install of Hardy. Gnumeric
version 1.8.2-1ubuntu1. Following packages are installed: gnumeric,
gnumeric-common, gnumeric-doc, gnumeric-plugins-extra. I reinstalled these
packages and now not even the window about application is displayed. I would
I managed to restart the machine but it did not help. Than I purged all
the gnumeric packages including their dependencies. Installed only
gnumeric (and its dependencies, nothing extra) and it worked! I could

This is a bit difficult to describe. For about a week I can see that
when I make Ubuntu to shut down it doesn't proceed correctly. The PC is
