As for VirtualBox, it depends on QT, so it is also affected.
I think you are saying that VirtualBox has nothing to do with the problem
of QT's bad libraries. That is true.

I can confirm this issue from a fresh install of Hardy. Glipper dies a
lot of times when logging in for the first time.
After reading everything here, I'm a bit confused on what to do and
think of this problem. Should I apply the sleep solution, or install
Parcellite instead? Will somebody fix
that the /dev/rtc file doesn't exists.
Should I load a module to enable this or should it be included in a
future version of the kernel build ?
Best regards
Jimmy

Hi Leann.
You are spot on. As soon as I create the softlink vmware doesn't give the
error.
I have confirmed that by removing the softlink again, the error message
reappears.
Best regards

Public bug reported:
In Xubuntu 8.04 the Gnome-power-manager seems to have no affect on the
system regardless of which settings are applied. I use a thinkpad t61.
There are many threads in the forums that I believe stem from this issue
so I believe it is a wider issue than just my laptop model.
