natty's kernel is based on 2.6.38 - but rtl8192cu was merged for 2.6.39,
which is still in development. The 2.6.39-rc mainline builds probably
haven't picked it up yet because they are still being built with the
natty kconfig.

from what I can tell, the patch has been confirmed to finally fix the
shutdown issue on older NV chips. But at the same time it *introduces*
the bug on newer controllers!

The kernel in -proposed adds support for some new hotkeys (such as wlan
toggle) to the eeepc_wmi driver (see #689393) - Corentin, I guess
eeepc_laptop doesn't like the fact that now there's suddenly two drivers
trying to handle wlan toggle?

(temporary) regression might have been caused by
mmc: make sdhci work with ricoh mmc controller
and fixed in -proposed by
mmc: sdhci-pci: add ricoh e822 pci id with device specific
