this is on 16.04.
if one installs the atftpd package you also get inetutils-inetd but the

the reason for this is that atftpd puts it config in /etc/inetd.conf and
leave the /etc/inetd.d/ directory empty.
but if that directory is empty inted is not

And this is on NFS mounted filesystems. so the .Trash- directory is

directory but the content is not shown and not possible to empty.
This used to work fine but now its not possible to list or empty trash

so files gets put into trash but they are not shown.
the only directory that works is the HOME all other directories moves
the files but they are not shown so .Trash directory gets larger and

So I'm on 17.10 (unstable) and I still have issue with this. But its not
the same issue.
Now it simply do not show up in the gnome sound settings. To get 5.1 ac3
output I first need to start pavucontrol then in the Configuration tab
select the correct profile in the Built-in Audio section.
Then
I did some more testing and used a USB sound card. If I select output to
that one its still selected when I turn off the monitor.
So it's only when I use the built in sound that it switched to HDMI when
I turn off the monitor.

Main problem for delays is actually the network.
I added eth0 in /etc/network/interfaces and now there is no delay at
boot.
autofs is still not started and I have to do
start autofs
and in another terminal
restart ypbind

then I can
start lightdm
then I can
I do not understand this fix.
autofs needs to wait for ypbind to be able to get the auto.master map

is the runlevel waiting on ypbind ?? I simply don't understand how to get
upstart to

autofs does not need to do this - its already done by the start-ypbind

Public bug reported:
I upgraded a working 11.10 to 12.04 and now I no longer can login to
the machine.
Problem has been for several weeks now so it's obviously not a transient
problem.
What is happening is that I get no graphics login. lightdm starts I
think but fails to present a login

This is a result of the upgrade. I have added –no-existing-session to the totem
start options.
Now I can't start totem and I have no idea on how to actually change that
option anymore.
I can start totem from the command line.
