I also confirm that this bug can still be annoying with the latest versions of
GDM and LightDM :-)
And it can be an easy way to make some jokes just by modifying the .profile!
Then it will be hard for the user to understand why he can no longer start a

not enabled by default on many configurations.

the dock, its plugins and GTK3 and then get a new backtrace with GDB?
It's easy to do: simply by launching these commands from a terminal:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cairo-dock-team/weekly
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo

Which GTK3 icons theme are you using? According to the stacktrace, the
dock is looking for a SVG icon (inode-directory) by using a GTK
function and then it crashes. I'm not sure that it's due to the dock.

Do you still have this freeze after having updated and rebooted your system?
If yes, is it maybe possible to get a backtrace of this crash/freeze with GDB?
Simply launch the dock with GDB and press Ctrl+C when the dock is freezing.

you'll need to reboot it).
