I am doing exactly that, so far: using the C309a driver, and I
anticipate that it should not be hard to get the additional change for
the C410a for exactly the reasons you state.
HOWEVER, while I am able to do basic printing, so far, I have been
entirely unable to get network scanning to work

I'm seeing the same, uniquely with Maverick. Selecting, and dragging
dropping are really poor in this version of evince. There are quite a

This is Maverick specific behavior. The exact same scenario does not
exhibit a problem on Lucid and earlier. The version of VMware is 7.1.1,
and identical in both Lucid and Maverick.

Maverick has the new USB Qualcomm Auxiliary Serial Port Driver, so
Network Manager is able to get auxiliary information from the modem. NM
is showing a 1x icon when connected to Verizon using my UM-175. If this
1x icon is just stock to say
