Sorry, further testing is difficult, because kernel 3.2.0-36.57 isn't available

Hi.
i managed to install the kernel 3.8 on one machine and i can boot it.
It breaks my USB-wireless keyboard and mouse, but a PS/2 connected
keyboard works.
The native nVidia driver does not load, but i have a X desktop on one of
my monitors.
i did an apport-collect of this state.

Looks like the entire USB part has some issues,
devices are detected, but are unuseable.
i can't access my apc usb, for example.
but this is an other issue, i think.

Hi,
I did some tests with removing and reinstalling kernels and
nfs packages, but nothing changed.
I can start the nfs server when i boot the generic kernel,
but nfs fails on generic-pae kernel.
any ideas where to search?

Installing nautilus-actions gets the ACL (and extended attributes) tab working.
Nautilus actions is an extension for Nautilus, the GNOME file manager.
It allows the configuration of programs to be launched on files selected
in the Nautilus interface.
May be this is the reason.

I got grub
Error 24: Attempt to access block outside partition
on two different machines now.
Both machines are running jaunty on ext4 file systems.
Both machines were dist-upgraded from intrepid on ext3.
Booting from Live CD and fsck gave no errors on the ext4
Forgot to say,
both are 64bit desktop versions of Jaunty beta.

Ok. After some google i found that:

I followed his method and the problem was solved.
Short summary:
- Boot with Live CD (i used USB-boot)
- open a terminal and do
$ sudo su
# mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
# mount --bind /dev
I am checking out the differences between /boot/grub and a copy that i made.
I found, that there is a new e2fs_stage1_5 and stage2
and the installed-version changed from 0.97-29ubuntu45 to 0.97-29ubuntu51.
Is this a symptom of that 'ext4 bug'?

I updated the BIOS of my notebook
(Samsung R710, SE11-Aura, P8400)
today from ver. 05SV to ver. 10SV.
Now i can boot without the mem=4096m option
and all memory is usable. (free reports 4050516 bytes total)

Just to let you know: Same things happen with Fedora 10/64bit.
Crash/Reboot with standard boot, works with param mem=4096m, but only 3GB of
RAM available.

i did a complete new install of my Notebook with the actual Ubuntu 8.10 64bit
Desktop release CD.
I added mem=4096M to the boot parameter and everything went fine.
After first reboot, i had to modify /boot/grub/menu.lst with the same boot
parameter, because

I don't think it is 'yust us two'. Having the same bug on two very different

So my Laptop has only 2GB of Ram instead of 4GB now.
And bingo:I can boot the 64bit-Live-System from the Desktop CD and
seems to work perfectly. (As far as i can see right now.)

Some of my observations, don't know if helpful:
I found, that i get the locking error on some (not all) files on a NFS-mounted
directory.
So i copied that folder to a local disc. Now some files are ok, some other
files still
have the error. When i copy and past the file (with nautilus) the

I tried to use Truecrypt 5.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy 64bit
on an AMD64 X2 5200+.
If you install it, you get a message, that the machine may
freeze, if you copy a large amount of data to an encrypted
