I've checked with upstream MythTV and they say looks like a standard
multi-rec setup. Keep in mind that by default, multi-rec is enabled and
set to 2, so if you didn't even go in there you still have it enabled.

That is incorrect. You always had to scan for changes, but you scanned
for changes in the video manager (which went away in 0.23, you now do it
directly in mythvideo).
If anything, thats a removed step that streamlines the process. Perhaps
there is an initial scan during SG setup that may be broke
You mention the backend so you must be using storage group.
This can't be a regression that worked in 0.21, because storage groups
didn't exist until 0.22.
I just checked my system (mythvideo 1:0.24.0+fixes27204-0ubuntu0) and it
works, so it's not a regression at all.

It means that particular build failed. Shouldn't matter though because
it was a 0.23.0 build for Maverick. Maverick shipped with a newer
version (0.23.1). All Mythbuntu supported releases have newer versions
available now anyway, so you might want to try those. I doubt you can
even get that version

DVD ripping does not work until 'Directories that hold videos' is filled
with a valid path
Looks like the issue was in mythweb.postinst
Mythweb Authentication was set to true (when in non-interactive mode).
This caused postinst to pull in new user/pass. Since we don't store
user/pass in plaintext (it gets cleared from conf file), in non-
interactive mode user/pass were set to "". Fixed

Going into the Video Manager does not automatically rescan (in fact, Video

I've noticed that the front sound is muted and set to 0 when I boot my
system. I'm not sure what is causing this, haven't really had the time
to track it down. This is on my 9.10 system.
Also note, that there are 0.22 packages for 8.10 and 9.04, but no 0.21
packages for 9.10.

In the Mythbuntu daily build on 13-Sep-2009, In Ubiquity when selecting
"Manual partitioning", it scans the disks, but does not actually go to
the partitioning page (sits on the same page). If you hit forward again
you get a warning that no root
Since Mythstream is an unofficial plugin, we will be pulling it from the
Mythbuntu disk.

The mythweb symlinks might be fixed, I'm not totally sure on that. I
thought I remember having to do that on 8.10, but again that was an install
long ago so I may be incorrect.
The default video_covers directory is fixed, I did that myself. Not at home
at the moment, but IIRC it is now /v
IIRC, the video_covers dir is now /var/lib/mythtv/posters. It is in
9.04, and I believe was also in 8.10. This only applies to NEW DB's,
existing DB's will have either the old setting, or whatever people
changed it to.
I think the main problem still exists though (unless it was fixed in
9.04). T

Is it possible that you left a frontend on the watch recording screen
with the show preview?
Could someone with this issue also post the output of
"ls -alh /var/log/mythtv"
