I currently used debian almost exclusive on servers and ubuntu on desktops.

In my case using gparted to resize a partition within the extended
partition caused the problem.
dpkg -p gparted | grep Version

I suggest:
fixed it up with booting from a live-cd and using a usb-key.
sfdisk -d /dev/hdahda.out
where hda.out is in on my usb key.

I have ignored your request for dpkg -l .. the problem is the upgrade
scripts. If this is too difficult to script, then it needs to be in the change
list and package readme files/kept in doc.
The problem was that as part of the upgrade from apache2 to apache2.2 the
required modules
Also the r818x driver required for rtl8180L pcmcia cards is missing
from 2.6.22 kernel modules. Please see bug.

Looking through ubuntu's 2.6.22 source tree, I notice that the ubuntu
sub directory containing the rtl wireless drives and other important
drives is missing.
Side note: It doesn't seem like bug reports are the way to communicate
with developers. Should I be doing this through a developer channel?

And no kiwimanager also does not work until after the wifi interface is

When I try to login through kdm with a user which has not used kde
before, I don't get a .xsession-errors
So instead I uploaded syslog, please look at the error at the end of the
syslog.

drops to the command problem, but the system will not
shutdown -h now
it start the shutdown but repeatledly tries to stop kdm and apache2
to simplify debugging I will uninstalling apache2
down in ubuntu kernel releases prior to 2.6.20

I reported this bug after not being able to retrieve bug reports through
apt-listbugs for many successive days.
However I am currently able to correct retrieve bug reports through
apt-listbugs. As the submitter I would like to close the this bug report and
reopen it if the problem reoccurs.

which address a problem returning a set when expect a list. Fixed the
problem.
