source and is developed by adobe. To get it fixed we would need to get

I just installed 8.10 64bit from a usb drive onto a dell dimension c521.
Ubuntu does not recognize a cd drive although the tray will open and
close. lshw does not appear to have a cd drive entry.

Ive been using 8.10 liveCD on a presario v2000. Nearly every time I try
to start it freezes before getting into the desktop. Captslock light
flashes and mouse is frozen I think this means a kernel lockup. It
appears this is the right bug for this though there has been little
activity lately.

When I start usb-creator and press the other... button It opens in my
user's home directory not root's. The places sidebar, however, shows
bookmarks for root not for my user. I agree generally the user's home
directory and places sidebar bookmarks is a preferable default.

It's hard to find
Yes this is a problem thanks for taking the time to report it. I thought
there was another bug to the same effect as this but I am now unable to
find it. It would be optimal if by default middle-button scrolling was
turned on for thinkpads. I also would like to learn a new workaround for

Since different programs are the cause of each program im not sure they should
be marked as duplicates. Though it may make sense to mark both packages under
one bug. I have reported this upstream to
I could be off base here but I had no sound in intrepid for a while it
turned out my PCM volume in alsamixer became disabled. Open a terminal
and enter 'alsamixer -Dhw' and make sure your master and PCM volume is
enabled. I don't know if thats the root of your problem or not.
