downgrading to kernel 2.6.22 in Hardy from the Feisty repos and it

Hi there. I'm using Compiz and Firefox 3.0 in Intrepid Ibex, and I'm having
this bug since yesterday. I though it was related to Firefox's new version, but
it seems this is not the case since this bug has been opened in March.
I had Enhanced Desktop Zoom on, and switching it off didn't help.

Yes, you are right. Because of this bug, I can't select Italian language
in GDM (better: I can select Italian but Gnome still default to

my old Inbox available through other means. In brief, here's what I know
now:
- Hardy Heron's Evolution (live CD) launched nicely, inheriting all old
mailboxes, but overwrote the old Inbox promptly, substituting the one-

Sometimes Azureus freezes when opening a new torrent file (from a firefox link
or directly from Azureus) and sometimes it doesn't. And this for both the
0ubuntu2 and the 0ubuntu3 releases.
I will try to delete
Today I tried version 2.5.0.4-1ubuntu3~gutsy1 from the gutsy-backports and
sadly it didn't work: every time I tried to download a torrent (in both cases
with azureus already opened and not) azureus started to freeze. I'm using sun
java 6 on my kubuntu x86.
Then, I downgraded the package to
see something good in Hardy... at least I hope so!
Anyway, when hardy will get a new kernel I'll try there.

I have the same problem with kopete 0.12.7 and kubuntu 7.10 gutsy i386.
It seems that this bug appeared several months ago.
It's reported also in the kde bug tracking system:

Hi,
I did try on Ubuntu 6.06 with 250Gb disks and I got the same result. Error on
LBA48. Tried again on 7.10 and the same.
Nothing works.
Right now I'm installing Feisty 7.04.
Tried to compile Sunix driver (the one from the card manufacter) for
kernel 2.6.15 (so Ubuntu 6.06) and It did compile,
Same for me on Gutsy official, I had to switch with CTRL+ALT+F1 to kill
gnome (or use CTRL+ALT+Backspace to kill X).
I changed Super+alt+button3 to CTRL+ALT+Button3 but nothing changed.

Some more info: I had to delete liferea.db and liferea.db-journal in
order to have liferea working again. Also, crash occours during the
automatic update feeds when liferea starts, so it is a little different
from the original poster bug (who deletes the a feeds folder). I have a
backup copy of
