Lubuntu 19.04 login screen doesn't appear when using vmwgfx

I'm running Lubuntu in a qemu 2.12.1 VM. 18.04 works fine.
When installing a fresh Lubuntu 19.04 or dist upgrade the 18.04 version
the login screen doesn't appear anymore. Dropping to the console and
typing `startx` launches the desktop successfully.

I launch Lubuntu/Ubuntu inside a VM (OS Host: Synology). I think the VM
makes use of Qemu but not sure.
Ubuntu 19.04 and Lubuntu 18.04 both boot fine to the live CD desktop
Lubuntu 19.04 boots to initial boot menu but not the the desktop (just
hangs).
When i install Lubuntu
On ubuntu 18.10 the hevc_nvenc codec is also missing. ffmpeg doesn't
list --enable-nvenc as one of it's configure flags that was used.

Call trace in dmesg (need to specify lat
The dmesg on 4.20 rc6 still contains a lot of call traces. I don't know
if they are the same ones or of the same origin though. When comparing
files i initially thought the 4.20rc6 has less call traces, but actually
at the end of the diff there are more. So i would say both 4.18 and
4.20rc6 roughly
Hi jsalisbury i can not tell you about the situation before because it
was the first time i checked dmesg. I did a dist upgrade from 18.04 to
18.10 though. But like i said i don't know if this was already happening
in 18.04

I forgot to mention one very important thing. In windows i have the
asrock application F-Tune which does the fan control perfectly. Which
leads me to conclude that all hardware support is in place.
