Well, it's Hardy beta, snd-hda-intel ALC 268 audio card and the problem
is the following. First, Ekiga can't use the audio output if any audio
app is opened (rhythmbox, for example). Second, after I close Ekiga, I
can get no sound!

Well, the problem is the following. It's Ubuntu 8.04 beta and pidgin
2.4.1 (using ICQ) and CP1251 (Windows Cyrilic - Russian) locale. Any
message that was sent to me while I was offline will come to me as soon
as I log in - but all the characters in the message would apppear

Sound works out of the box now. Internal mic doesn't work. External mic
seems to work but with a low quality.
Upstream is working on this issue (See alsa bug 3637): A patch is in
progress to make the internal mic work.
