I can confirm the same exact problem using 10.10 32bit on Dell Mini 10v
netbooks. They use the following chipset:
03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)
I will test the work-around from #9 soon and report if the fix works.

The workaround from #9 did indeed work for me also. I added it in
/etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/99-NetworkManager_actions script so
that it runs when the interface comes up. However, maybe this isn't the
best place to invoke iwconfig because I find that the wireless
association process still
I get exactly the same as #90. Same version, same errors. Tried disabling KMS,
acpi=off, disabling DRI,
Using a Dell 2400 desktop equipped with 82845G on board graphics.
Only vesa mode proves stable so far.

Since the BBC changed the iPhone streaming method yet again last week (now it's
similar to 2.41 again!) I have created an absoluetly minimal patch for all the
critical show-stopper (!) bugs. I've also fixed other things that were either
due to BBC changing their stuff which broke

Is this really a solution or just a workaround which has to be applied
individually to all affected web content world-wide?

bit of this code was changed

Binary package hint: get-iplayer
get_iplayer cannot download iphone mode at all in this older version
because the BBC changed/simplified the method used to get this type of
stream. The bug was fixed by the author last year and Debian upstream
already has the newer version.
This still doesn't work for me. I've tried on all today's latest pkgs
from karmic beta on i386. I have a networked Sharp MX2300N (with no
postscript module). I tried just about every combination of driver
available under Sharp for this model and Generic PCL5c, Generic PCL6 /

@49, in my case I am sure compiz is as fast a before because I was
actually in the process of quantitatively testing frame rates in several
apps before the bug appeared on my system and now that I put in #32 fix
the rates are exactly the same. Testing was using Celestia, Stellarium,
I did 3 things to get karmic beta to behave (so far reliably with both sound
and timidity working) on my Dell Mini 10v netbooks.
