I get the same problem described by DanM for sleep, and the same problem described in the original post for hibernation (screen flicks on an off). Hibernate worked fine in feisty. I'm running a realtime kernel, but I was in feisty as well, and didn't have this problem. dell d410, kubuntu gutsy.
