Today I start the server whit this command and all it work
vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768
In this way the ~/.vnc folder was populated of all the file needed for make
working vnc with also the log file, and now the xstartup is readed from vnc and
gnome start! :D

I installed xvn4server and I'm not in able to see the gnome desktop from remote
computer, I only see the gray screen with a big X for the mouse pointer (the
classic X screen)

Using dvb-utils I found my own channel.conf but if I try to see it from
mythtv-setup don't find one channel
If I use the frequency and options of one mux found with dbv-utils don't find
one channel

encoutered while displaying video and it return to the menu.

I had the same problem. Every time that I swich-on the computer the
masterbackend is not running. If I start it from terminal console (sudo
/etc/init.d/mythbackend start) it start normally without error and the
front-end work well.
this is my log from the new tool of the frnteend
following the instructions that give me Mario Limonciello in irc channel I
sucessfull installed the mythbuntu in vmware
before start the installation into one text terminal I reinstall the ubiquity.
(sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubiquity
