use accelerometer. But if I turn the laptop to side, keyboard input
become disabled. I can switch to console by ctrl+alt+F1 and type in
console but I can't type in GUI when laptop is on it's side.
I tested with another video card (GeForce 8400 GS), and suspend works
normally.

Ah, after testing this further the problem was really a corrupted
config. Running rm -r ~/.config/vlc seemed to fix this problem for all
versions of vlc.
It helps, but after some launches of VLC the problem goes back, and I
should remove config again.
