I just ran into this bug also on Ubuntu 20 LTS after updating the kernel a week
ago (multiboot laptop with Ubuntu and Windows 10). After figuring out that it's
not a hardware issue (since windows still booted normally), I made the switch
to Jammy, installed Ubuntu and all my software from

The system does not shut down completely. The display goes black, but the power
LED stays on (ThinkPad E460). Trying to boot the system in that state is not
successful. Only way out is a hard reset.
Interestingly, rebooting works (very slowly).

Ubuntu dock glitches
I switched to Wayland today because of a different issue concerning X-11
crashing while using display ports and as a side effect do not see this issue
at all now. I suspect that one of the following to be true:
1. the issue was fixed in another bug
2. Using Wayland instead of X11 is a work
I can recreate this issue with many other applications, not limited to
intellij. From my experience, this has much more to do with timing.

After successfully executing 'sudo grub-install /dev/sdb --no-nvram' I

After a resume from a lock/suspend, windows sizes are changed, fonts are
incorrect sizes (until mouse over), and windows have moved from the
secondary monitor to the primary monitor. This happens every time the

Hopeful this bug was fixed (as it improperly states above), I did a
fresh install on my machine with an Nvidia 1060. It will boot, then go
to a black screen on login, etc. I tried what people mentioned above,
but was not able to get a stable working system. I went back to 17.10
and have not had

with the vti interfaces disappearing from the output of ip addr during a
network glitch.

It would be nice, if the thumbnailer could preserve transparency in thumbnails
for e.g. logos.
The black background often looks really bad in applications that use a light
theme.

I have a vagrant virtual machine that mounts a directory on my computer
via NFS, this does not work and the reason seems to be this. My System
is using SMP, reverting to the kernel before solves the problem.
