There are no free and open source drivers for that printer. Canon does
have proprietary and unsupported (partly binary only) linux drivers for
your printer available at its website as rpm for suse only.
For obvious reasons, these drivers are not included in ubuntu, and as

Negative, it's not fixed in kde 3.5.6. Behaviour has changed though; '
and " now result in one rather than two stars being (directly) printed.

You can already use the "run command" dialogue for this, by simply prepending
the command of your choice with "gksudo" (gnome) or "kdesu" (kde). This will
present you with a graphical password dialogue.

That scanner requires proprietary firmware in order to work, which is

According to 'apt-file search mkiso' (or http://packages.ubuntu.com for that
matter) no /usr/bin/mkiso file exists in any edgy package in the repositories.
As such, it seems that this script is not part of ubuntu.
If you acquired/installed it from somewhere else please file a bug with the
author
Unable to reproduce, example file seems to open fine here (some product
codes and pricing information, right?) with version 2.0.4 on edgy, and
the same java version you have...

OpenGL Failing on Radion 92
Tried just now (installed edgy a month or so ago but didn't dare using
this feature yet) and it seems all is well: the going back to top of
page and any form of serious unresponsiveness is gone. Tested with KDE
3.5.5, Firefox 2.0, and Mozilla 1.7.13.
