I am marking this bug as incomplete. There isn't really enough
information here for a developer to confirm this issue is a bug, or to

There also seem to be at least 2 separate issues being reported in this

I used to have the same problem after manually installing spacenavd to
use with Freecad.
after that, I get the same error message any time I sudo apt-get update

Hey I decided that Maybe My Problem is with the packages that seem to be
cross-dependent on each other so that none of them can be completely
installed/configured:
cups-daemon
samba
winbind
cups-core-drivers

unattended-upgrades
So I removed each package using 'sudo apt-get' to see if
