The graphical library package you see for xenial are pulled in via the OpenSceneGraph dependencies of libsfcgal. SFCGAL is required for 3D support in postgis. The OpenSceneGraph support in SFCGAL 1.3.0 broke after they removed the viewer application, the library can still use OpenSceneGraph

postgresql-9.5-postgis-2.2 only depends on library packages. The postgis package contained shp2pgsql-gui which has a dependency on libglib2.0-0 & libgtk2.0-0, these pull in various other graphics related library packages. In postgis (2.2.2+dfsg-2~exp1) the shp2pgsql-gui has been moved to a
