Thanks for your offer to help! However after some changes (uninstalled mplayer, ran Computer Janitor, and removed a 2nd user) suspend now works again. The only difference is that the display flashes up and clicks right before everything goes dark, but I hope that's ok. My log for the

Done some self testing... If I remove the script /etc/pm/sleep.d/07-stop-play.sh The laptop suspends. Looks like their is a problem either with the 07-stop-play.sh script or my laptop. Can anyone see a problem with the script? Or what other info i need to attach.. I've attached the new
