The Ubuntu One folder should not be renamed nor deleted, as it's the
main directory for the whole service.
It's a bit rigid now this way, yes, that's why we're planning to have
the User Defined Folders feature in the future (that will allow you to
synchronize *any* folder under your home).
I think you missed the point, Ubuntu One stopped working for a number of
people - it crashed and then would not connect anymore.
It looks like the directory got corrupted, and deleting the contents
fixed it.
The fact that one user renamed the directory in an attempt to fix things
doesn;t

seems that you renamed the Ubuntu One directory from Ubuntu One to
Ubuntu One-wrong-path. Please note that currently it is not possible
to rename it. Can you please confirm that you still have this problem?

I think I am having the same issue - I can connect to the web instance
of ubuntu one - but the client will not connect - in my case I changed
desktop theme - restarted for another reason and subsequently - even
with theme back to Human I cannot connect.
