The inability for any Linux OS I have tried so far on my switchable
graphics laptop (HP Pavilion DV6-3006TX) has forced me to only use the
HP Slapshtop and Windows 7 that came pre-installed on the laptop. I am a
great fan of Linux and especially Ubuntu and would love to use Ubuntu on
my new laptop.

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the

I have been too busy to look into this but from what I've gathered most
of the switchable graphics is done via acpi 'hotpluging'.
This would need to be done before X starts since X.org does not
currently support switchable graphics. I was emailed the acpi dump for
the lenovo laptop from the author

Windows battery life >4 hours
Linux battery life < 2 Hours
Compiling catalyst drivers has no effect.
