I've experienced a similar hang up to Beta 1 whenever I tried to boot the LiveCD (haven't tested Beta 2 yet). However, I only got the Glib message in Alpha 3. Removing quiet splash makes it work, so I believe this is a Plymouth issue. I'd also suggest that this bug be marked critical, as one

No, this happens with a fresh install attempt from a Live CD. Also, I tried it on a different computer of the same model and specs and it also hung the same way. As well, I tried installing Debian 5.04 and it installed without any problems and that is what I'm now running on that computer. This
