Same problem here but with an ASUS P5K-E motherboard. Turning off ACPI as Lord_Shadow suggested did NOT fix the problem, or at least only partially fixed it. With ACPI off I can mount CDROMs but I cannot mount/burn blank DVD-Rs. As others have said, everything worked fine in Ubuntu 9.04, Ubuntu
