that the 'info' pages are the ultimate source of documentation for
coreutils; the 'man' pages are a summary, and are generated from the
programme's help call (please compare '/usr/bin/dir --help' and 'man
dir').

C de-Avillez, I'm using the standard dir command as described in the man
page. The information found via the Terminal:
info coreutils 'dir invocation'
stating:
`dir' is equivalent to `ls -C -b'
should be placed in man dir to avoid confusion of what dir does and how
it does it. For example man

performs dir v. ls:

The mv command that worked is:
