@Alexander: I will try the latest Gutsy, but I had to install it for

So far, my experience is a mixed bag.
May I ask what more information is needed to proceed with this bug? I

I'm beginning to think that there may be more than one issue/bug that I
am seeing. One of them is almost certainly not even related to network-

I experience the 2nd problem you mentioned except I use ndiswrapper. My
chipset is bcm43xx. I am able to connect to wireless networks when this
problem arises with network manager by command line (ifdown eth1 ifup

I have this problem using ndiswrapper, although I have observed that I
can connect to unsecure wireless networks if there is only 1 AP
broadcasting on the SSID I'm trying to connect too. When multiple access
points exist, the connection fails. I have attached a syslog of a failed
connection.

I am a heavy user of bcm43xx (in the incarnation of Airport Extreme on

I don't use ndiswrapper, but the free driver that comes with the kernel

Speak of the devil - I was just able to connect to a different
unencrypted access point without any problem, using network-manager
(??). Perhaps the problem has to do with attempting to connect to an
unencrypted network after being connected to (or attempting to connect
to) an encrypted network;
