Since upgrading to Edgy, usplash no longer shows the familiar Ubuntu
boot splash. Much to my amazement, the theme package did not configure
itself in postinst to replace the testcard that comes with usplash.

merged from Debian (not that I've uploaded that yet).

I uninstalled it and installed only openoffice.org-writer -impress and

The bug happens when I play a directory containing MPEGs or WMVs (at
least). With a directory containing MPEGs, even a video window pops up
having "VLC (XVideo output)" in the title bar when wxvlc is playing the
last video in the directory; closing the window does not kill wxvlc. The

After go through creating a database, one is eventually presented with a dialog
with the heading: "New Database created".
The layout looks like there should be a blue background with a white
text box and black text in that. The white box is

I can confirm this bug in version 3.5.4 from kubuntu side-repository.
It doesn't seem to occur in version 3.5.3 in that repo, and definitely
not in the main (3.5.2) version. These two versions depend only in
language-pack-kde-pt, not -ptbr.

You say you're using a root partition of 2.77gb. If you'll examine the
release notes for Ubuntu 6.06 at
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/releasenotes/606 , you'll note that the
minimum system requirements requires a minimum of 3 gb hard disk space.
Thus, you should not be attempting to install to a 2

At the suggestion of Michael Vogt, I looked through the gnome bugzilla
for this bug for about 15 minutes, to see if perhaps this is an upstream
problem. I cannot find anything related, but I am also not familiar

When I boot the edgy knot-3 CD, I set a keymap in the boot menu (German)
using the F3 key.
The setting gets ignored, keyboard setup in the LiveCD seems to be US
English. Because ubiquity supports keymap selection, the installation is
not affected.

I'm seconding this request. The volume on the edgy knot-3 LiveCD and
(later) installed version is on 100%, and I just find it highly
annoying, though it could even be hurtful to people with sensitive
hearing or might damage the speakers.
The Gnome startup is so fast these days that I can press the

For me last update (.47) also broke network access. The sky2 worked
correctly. So I was forced to downgrade. Hardware is Marvell 88E8053
(rev19) in Gericom Supersonic PCIE notebook.
