Even with the corrected scripts (that considers dmraid in /usr/sbin),
the /dev/mapper devices are not correctly set at startup.

When I do invoke-rc.d powernowd start It complains:

Yes. I can now successfully compile and run praat by compiling with gcc
3.3. Thanks for the help.
Should the Ubuntu praat source package change its
makefiles/makefile.defs.linux.* to specify a gcc
Tinkering with the obvious pam options doesn't seem to help me Timo.
Could you perhaps post the relavent portions of your own pam /
xscreensaver setup please?

The langauge issue with the corrupted plural form is really unfortunate
and I will ping our rosetta/langpack team about it again today.
The imake issue is reported as #63396 and the X team is working on it.
(I'm 'crimsun'.) The appropriate patches[0] for both Dapper and Edgy
have already been sent to our kernel lead. Whether they'll be applied
immediately is fairly doubtful, since we're less than two weeks from
Edgy's release.
